Maan Horti Automation has found a partner in Powerplants, granting them exclusive rights for the distribution, service, and maintenance of Growcoon dispensers in Australia and New Zealand. This partnership ensures that growers in these regions now have access to local technical support for all Growcoon-related processes, further safeguarding operational continuity. The agreement was officially signed during GreenTech 2025 at the RAI Amsterdam.
For those not yet familiar: Growcoon is a fully biodegradable plug holder for cutting and seed propagation. This innovative mesh not only enhances growing quality and performance but also enables full automation of both planting and transplanting processes, making it a promising step towards more efficient, labour-saving cultivation on a large scale. In recent years, significant investments have been made to automate every aspect of the Growcoon system.
But just as crucial as the product and its equipment are service, support, and the availability of technical know-how and spare parts. In short: the guarantee that everything works—and keeps working. That's exactly the role Powerplants will take on in the Australian and New Zealand markets. The partnership means Powerplants will exclusively expand its portfolio with Growcoon equipment, becoming the first technical point of contact in the region. Their involvement will be key to the further rollout of Growcoon and, with that, to driving sustainable and high-efficiency cultivation practices.
Edwin Kruiper of Maan Horti Automation shares his excitement: "We're thrilled to welcome Powerplants as our partner. They truly understand the challenges the industry faces—and we're proud they see Growcoon as part of the solution."
Alastair McLean from Powerplants adds: "Our commitment to innovation and collaboration allows us to make a meaningful contribution to sustainable food supply and plant production in Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia. Growcoon and the Growcoon dispensers offer a promising and sustainable addition to the propagation process—something we're eager to accelerate."
The Growcoon cutting and seed plug is sold exclusively by Klasmann-Deilmann.
